Our game of the tournament

Cambodia V Grenada in Amsterdam was a unique event in the sporting world as our two nations competed for the first time in any sport. History in the making the game was an epic battle with both set of players giving it 100%.

Grenada got off to a great start and were 4-0 up within three minutes. Team Cambodia could have crumbled but coach Jimmy Campbell has installed some backbone into this group and they fought back to ensure the score was 6-3 at half time.

The second half brought lots more goals and Kimhong Thong scored twice in the second half and Cambodia scored four unanswered goals. With one minute to go Cambodia were winning 7-6. One of the great comebacks in Cambodian Homeless World Cup history was on the cards until Grenada equalised with 20 seconds to go.

7-7 and penalties.  Three kicks each and we lost. Football is the beautiful game but like life it can be cruel. After such an epic effort our players were very upset. We told them to hold your heads high....be proud...you gave it everything. Our players showed that playing for Cambodia means so much to them. We are delighted with their efforts on and off the pitch.

No one made a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could do only a little.
