News Australian school visits HFCA

One of our longest standing supporters Ivanhoe Grammar School from Melbourne, Australia came for their annual visit to HFCA in June this year.

Having first visited in July 2008, this is the eighth year Ivanhoe students have come to play football with our players, but more importantly the Australian students get to interact with Cambodians in an activity which builds better understanding and friendships between Cambodian and Australian boys and girls.

We spent time getting to know some of the children, and many photos were taken as we played soccer together. Some of our fundraising money from the preceding six months was contributed to HFCA alongside a generous donation of kits, boots and soccer balls from Matt Nakulski, whose efforts did not go unnoticed. Overall, the experience was fun for everyone, and was the perfect way to kick-start our project.Thank you HFCA for hosting this most enjoyable afternoon. Hopefully in 2016 another team from Ivanhoe Grammar School will spend time playing soccer and talking to your enthusiastic young players.

Everyone enjoyed themselves

HFCA really values this relationship with one of the most progressive schools in Australia. Our players love having children from another country come visit and its means so much to them that these Australian children work so hard to raise funds for their program. The games are always fun and we look forward to continuing this partnership for many years to come. Thanks to Helen and Don Page-Wood and all the Ivanhoe staff for all their work in making these visits happen.
