News Cambodian Champions League season update

Its been a fantastic experience for our players as we compete in our first season in the KMH Champions League.

Having kicked off in October we have played 12 of our 14 games and will finish our season on the 30th of May.

The standard of the league has been very high as other teams make the most of the rules which allow four foreign nationals and two professional footballers from other leagues. HFCA has honored our commitment to ensure that all 24 of our squad are Cambodian and exclusively from our HFCA youth academy and former Homeless World Cup. Its been a very steep learning curve but the players have enjoyed the challenge.

HFCA and Svray Chrum FC shake hands before our 4 - 4 draw on the 13th of March.

Having lost nine of our twelve games points have been hard to come by but our two wins and one draw have been great for morale. The players have been practicing hard in training to improve their defending and tactical awareness and apart from the odd game we have always been competitive.

Action shot from our 2 - 1 victory against Svay Chrum F.T. HFCA team (in red) defended with heart and passion. Cheng Mao (number 13) pressures the opponent in a close game.

Cheng Mao came to HFCA from our partner the Happy School and represented Cambodia at the 2015 Homeless World Cup. A really nice and friendly guy off the pitch he is a very good footballer with excellent tacking and passing skills.

Sokla (in red No 10) bursts down the wing with his lighting speed!

Sokla was one of three players who represented Cambodia at last years Homeless World Cup in Norway. Naturally shy off the pitch he comes to life when representing HFCA! Only 18 years old he is the most improved of the young players in our team. He started the first few games as a substitute, he is now a regular on the starting 11. His two goals to date were very impressive.  He plays right winger and is very fast and direct.

In Group D of the KMH Champions League we sit 8th after 12 games.
