he players had an amazing time in one of the most beautiful cities in the world. The team gave their all on the pitch, winning three games against Sweden, Canada and Japan. At times we struggled against some of the European and South American teams whose superior skills and greater physical size made it difficult to compete but the players gave their all in every game and you cant ask for more than that.
Off the pitch the fans loved the team because they tried so hard, despite being the youngest group there and having the smallest player in the event, the only and only Sreng Hem. Sreng ended up being our best player. In the first few games he was starting on the bench but the end of the tournament he was the first name on coaches Jimmy Campbell's team sheet.
Cambodia finished 45th out of 48 teams. Thanks to all our sponsors in particular the Homeless World Cup, Smart Mobile, Banzai Cambodia, Collingwood Rotary Club, Paddy Rice Irish Sports Bar and all our staff, volunteers and supporters.
