HFCA were honoured to bring one of the giants of the world game to Cambodia and it was a privilege to work with Fabrizio Piccareta.
Before and after training one of the nicest guys you could meet, keen to learn about Cambodian culture and interact with the kids but once training started each day he was very serious and focused on running the best possible sessions and treated our players with the utmost respect by pushing them to the limits of their ability. A great example to all our staff and player's of the importance of been focused and professional.
Fabrizio is the assistant coach to high profile ex Premier League player and now coach Paolo Di Canio. They started their English coaching careers at Swindon Town in fourth tier of English football and won promotion in the first season and then Sunderland came calling last April.
As a footballer I was not a great player whereas Paolo obviously was, but what I hope I can provide for him is my commitment and support. We will work together on the pitch every day as a team. I also hope I can offer a different point of view because sometimes a coach must have someone who can look at the same thing, but offer a different type of view. This will be my main task and I am confident I will give my best
- Fabrizio said, when asked what was his main role as part of the coaching staff
