News HFCA and Riverkids Foundation sign new partnership deal to 2017

HFCA and Riverkids Foundation have been working together to help some of the poorest boys and girls in Phnom Penh since 2006.

We are delighted to announce that we are extending our partnership with Riverkids Foundation till December 2017.

Riverkids first began its work in the Phnom Penh slums by enrolling children to kindergarten and grade school in order to prevent child trafficking and exploitation. Later on, activities such as choir, dance and football were introduced. Small pockets of space in the slums began to fill quickly with children playing football as it grew in popularity. In 2006 when Paraic Grogan, the Chairperson of HFCA approached Riverkids to ask whether it wanted them to coach its boys and girls to play football, it said yes! Now, youths encourage one another to succeed instead of join gangs, stay out of school and get into dangerous addictions. Riverkids players have attended the last six Homeless World Cups, thanks to HFCA’s continuous support that shows promising children that dreams can come true and they have hope for a brighter future.
