HFCA have selected 12 girls to take part in this years tournament which runs from Friday 7th to Sunday 9th of April.
"JSSL is extremely excited to welcome HFCA to Singapore this April. HFCA will be the 1st team ever to compete from Cambodia in the JSSL Singapore Professional Academy 7s. The JSSL 7s is Asia’s largest youth tournament with over 400 teams and 5,000 players from 15 Nations and having a representative team from Cambodia is a tremendous achievement." Harvey Davis, Founder JSSL 7s, Singapore Football Tournament
"We’re all delighted with the news that Cambodia will be represented at the JSSL 7s tournament in Singapore and, of course, that it is the girls from Cambodian Children’s Fund who will be experiencing an international tournament and travel for the first time. Thank you very much to HFCA and to Paraic, who works day and night in order to bring about these achievements." Scott Neeson, Founder Cambodian Children's Fund
"I have learned so much through football, competitive sport really teaches me to be stronger. I used to be really afraid, I used to see obstacles as really tough challenges but now I feel that I am more confident taking on challenges." HFCA player Chanthy
Over the last nine years the JSSL 7s has grown from strength to strength, starting from having just 560 players and 40 teams in one venue back in 2013 to this year’s anticipated turnout of 5,600 players competing in matches played over three days at three venues in Singapore. HFCA will play at least 7 matches in an exciting action packed format of seven players a side over 22 minutes.
In 2017 JSSL added the Professional Academy 16’s category. Very famous professional clubs from Europe such as Liverpool, Manchester Utd, Arsenal FC, Barcelona FC, Atletico Madrid and Valencia CF have since entered boys’ and girls’ teams.
"HFCA is very happy these young girls will get to experience a great football tournament in beautiful Singapore. We hope they will inspire other Cambodian girls to play football." Paraic Grogan, Founder Happy Football Cambodia Australia
