News HFCA launch the inaugural Siem Reap Village Cup

Sports can be a powerful tool for helping to rebuild communities.

This is why HFCA and our partner Better Future Today (BFT) have joined together to host The Siem Reap Village Cup... to reinforce and strengthen local community ties in the rural regions of Cambodia!

Neighbouring villages gathered together to participate and witness the tournament on May 12th. HFCA provides the members of the rural communities not only the physical benefits that come along with the sport but also enriching them in improving their communication skills, social learning and to create a sense of belonging through sportsmanship.

Given the generous contributions from our donors, we have the opportunity to materialize some of the children’s dreams of playing and stepping into a football stadium.

Many of the children grew up in poor families, the opportunity to play football gives the children a chance to develop their full potential. Through participating at HFCA, many of the children including the children at the villages are given the opportunity to hone our social learning skills. They learn how to effectively communicate with each other and to work together as a team towards one purpose to score a goal.
