His name is Elliot and he comes all the way from Scotland. His parents Debbie and Neil decided that instead of presents when they were celebrating his birth they would ask for donations for HFCA and our partner The Happy School. Thanks Elliot for donating 200 pounds to HFCA and 175 pounds to the Happy School! Click here to see some pics
After spending a year travelling around Australia in 2006, we planned to return to Scotland with lots of exciting stories about our
adventures and fabulous tans! However, a chance meeting with Paraic (HFCA founder) on the longest train journey ever (Indian Pacific from Melbourne to Perth) led us to Cambodia and a week volunteering at the Happy School. The experience was amazing and like nothing we had ever encountered before. From the incessant car horns tooting to the sunny disposition of all the Cambodians we met, it was fantastic. There was little we could do at the school in such a short time but we thoroughly enjoyed playing games, singing and constantly laughing with the children and young people.

Since returning to Scotland and "normal" life we have often thought about those we met. We have a photo book sitting beside the TV and this is a reminder of our wonderful time. Our son, Elliot, was born in October 2009 and surprisingly this led us to think about the Happy School once more. We decided to ask for donations from our family and friends at Elliot's Blessing in lieu of gifts. We are keen to continue to support the work of the Happy School and HFCA. It is our hope and intention to visit again one day with our little boy.
