Originally from the USA she was living in Mexico City at the time and had also lived in Cambodia and speaks Spanish and Cambodian so she was a great help. Visiting Cambodia for work she caught up with some of the players from Mexico City.
I just had an amazing time visiting with three of the members of the 2012 Cambodia Homeless World Cup team on a recent visit to Phnom Penh! It was really fun to catch up with them a year and a half after seeing them play in the tournament in Mexico City. We spent some time on the riverfront and then enjoyed a pizza dinner! I got to hear about how proud their communities were when they returned to Cambodia from Mexico and we reminisced about some of their favourite moments from the Cup, including their goal in the final second of their first game that led to a win over Guatemala! All of them have many positive things to report about jobs and school, and even one marriage! And despite being very busy with their current endeavours, they are still finding time to play and support other HFCA members.
