News Monira Men: from the streets of Phnom Penh to the Cambodian Premier League

Former HFCA player Monira Men has been having an excellent season with new club Western Phnom Penh.

Signed from Svay Rieng Football Club in the pre season he has claimed a regular spot in midfield. The Cambodian Premier League has 12 teams with each team playing a total of 22 games. After 11 rounds of the season Western Phnom Penh are 8th with a total of 12 points.

Monira started the season off as a regular substitute but so impressive has his performances been that the manager Sum Vanna has started him in recent games. Western Phnom Penh manager Sum Vanna granted HFCA an exclusive interview "Monira has strong commitment when playing, he wants to win. He always listens to the coaching staff and respects all his team mates. This season through hard work Monira has reached the same level as his team mates."

Whilst it been a good season so far for Monira, Sum said  "He can improve if he build his physic and do a lot more gym work. By been stronger he can compete more during games. The club want to reward Monira for his hard work as the Manager said "We will do our best to keep him at the club and offer him improved financial terms when this season ends."
