News National Day of Mourning in Cambodia

As you may be aware, on Monday the 22nd of November 347 people were killed and another 410 injured in a stampede that occurred during the annual Water Festival.

A national day of mourning is being held today (Thursday 25th November) in Cambodia. I am relieved to report that none of the HFCA staff, volunteers or players were amongst those who died or were injured, but that relief is tinged with great sadness at such a tragic waste of life.

We have suspended our program till Saturday the 3rd of Dec as a mark of respect to those who lost their lives.

On behalf of all the HFCA staff, volunteers and players I want to extend our deepest sympathies to the families who lost loved ones and to all the people in Cambodia.
