He is enjoying his third season as a professional footballer. Having been a key part of the Kirivong Sok Sen Chey FC team for the 2016 and 2017 seasons he was delighted to sign for one of the established teams in the Cambodian Premier League before the season kicked off in March.
Sadly Kirivong Sok Sen Chey FC were relegated from the Premier League last year, having achieved promotion in 2016 and Sreng wanted to continue playing at the highest level so he made the big move.
With 12 teams in the league, Western Phnom Penh are due to play 22 games in the season which runs from the 3rd of March to the 30th of September. In the first ten games, Western Phnom Penh have struggled, losing all ten games, and are currently five points from safety.
Sreng is confident his team can stay up. "Its been a struggle so far this season but everyone at the club is working hard to get our first win of the season. We believe in the coach and we will work even harder to avoid relegation".
Sreng has come a long way from his first joined HFCA is 2008 and having attended the Homeless World Cup in Paris in 2011 he has worked so hard to make his dreams of becoming a professional footballer true. All our young players love it when he comes to our training programs. Everyone at HFCA is so proud of his achievements.
