"HFCA hopes that Srey Chi will continue playing football for many years as she is good enough to play at the highest level in Cambodian football. With the right support from HFCA and our sponsors and donors she can be a star in the future. Talent like hers needs to be encouraged and supported and HFCA will be doing our utmost to give her every chance to be a success."
- Grogan continued
"Srey Chi is the deserving winner of the 2020 HFCA Scott Neeson Girl Player trophy as she works so hard in training and is a fantastic example to her team mates during games. She has very good skill with both feet and is an exciting attacking player who can break through defences with her strength to score goals."
- HFCA Founder Paraic Grogan commented on the winning player
"Girls and women face a shortage of options for competitive sports and a general lack of support in pursuing what are often considered male domains. Football, "the beautiful game", transcends these barriers and stigmas and allows for a time of confidence-building, teamwork and a chance to shine, regardless of wealth, standing or academic potential."
- Scott continued
Through CCF, Scott Neeson has championed the rights of young women in Cambodia to have equal access to education and sports and on the 6th of February, Srey Chi was honoured to be just the 2nd ever winner. As well as having her name permanently added to the Scott Neeson trophy, she received an Adidas football and smaller trophy to keep.
"Srey Chi has always been one of our more reserved CCF students. However, from the first time she set foot on the football pitch, she came alive, demonstrating a level of confidence and agility that I had never seen. Her time playing and training with HFCA has honed those skills and the confidence has spilled into her everyday life."
