Seeing HFCA Academy star Sokhapich embrace this new opportunity was wonderful. "Playing in the FFC U16 league for XO United really changed the way I see myself. At first, I was nervous because I was playing at a higher level and competing against strong teams. But every match taught me that I was capable of more than I thought. HFCA launched our Girls/Women Academy in Phnom Penh in 2017 to provide fair access to football opportunities for underprivileged Khmer girls & women. Chouly (Aged 16), Nita (Aged 15) and Sokhapick (Aged 16) joined HFCA from our close Phnom Penh based NGO partner Cambodian Children's Fund.
HFCA Academy Girls thrive in U16 National Girls League season with XO United
Three of our star players participated in the inaugural FFC (Football Federation Cambodia) national league with Phnom Penh based XO United football club.
XO United FC is an educational, and community-based organization. Founded in 2021, XO United provides professional football training, expert coaching, and character development for members of the local community in the ??? area of Phnom Penh. The club joined the Cambodian Womens League for the first time and competed well against the other 7 teams taking over the 5 month long season.
